TAG Racing Honda head home to Donington Park

Swadlincote-based TAG Racing Honda head to Donington Park for the eighth round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at their home round at Donington Park. Fraser Rogers and Jaimie Van Sikkelerus are set for four races across the weekend, whilst Matt Truelove and Shaun Winfield are looking to close the gap in the Pirelli National Superstock standings.

After a return to the podium at Cadwell Park, the team head to the Leicestershire venue full of confidence, and ready to tackle one of the busiest weekends of 2025, as the Bennetts BSB class prepare for four sprint races across the weekend, with one race for both Matt Truelove and Shaun Winfield.

Fraser Rogers is fully focused on breaking back into the top ten after a tricky time last time out in Lincolnshire. He enjoyed a positive weekend during his last visit to Donington Park in May, where he collected points in all three races and gathered valuable data for his return.

Following his injury he sustained last time out, Jaimie Van Sikkelerus has been doing everything he can to tackle the weekend and will travel to Donington Park with a view to racing. However he must pass a fit to ride medical on Thursday, and the team will provide an update in due course regarding his participation.

Matt Truelove’s confidence is brimming as he heads to Donington Park following a sensational return to the podium at Cadwell Park, he and the team are aiming for more of the same once again this weekend. ‘Truey’ sits just 40 points behind third place in the Pirelli National Superstock standings, and a good result on Sunday could see him claw his way closer to the top three.

Team mate Shaun Winfield is also heading to his home race full confidence, and is prepared for the battle which is set to ignite across the weekend. Shaun sits inside the top ten of the Championship standings, and has the chance to improve his position with a solid result come Sunday afternoon.

The 2.49-mile Grand Prix circuit will play host to a hectic weekend for the Bennetts BSB series, as the Superbike class will contest four shorter ‘sprint’ races, with one getting underway on Saturday afternoon and three throughout Sunday. The venue is a true spectator favourite, and has provided some memorable moments in the Championship’s history, and this weekend is set to be no different.

Fraser: “Donington Park is one of my favourite circuits on the calendar, it’s the teams’ home event and we’re now heading into crunch time of the season, but I’m ready to give it my all. As a team we’ve got two years worth of data at Donington which means we can be on the front foot as soon as the lights go out for FP1.

“My aim is to get back into the top ten, Thruxton and Cadwell didn’t treat me too kindly, but we’re all determined to break our current run of disappointing form and be back in the fight at the front.”

Jaimie: “Since my collarbone fracture at Cadwell Park I have given everything to recover fast as possible. Sadly an operation wasn’t possible on the specific fracture area, which makes the 10 days between the races a very short period of time to heal. Donington always fits me well and I very much looked forward to this event. Thursday I will have the fit to ride medical test and we need to see from there, but I will give it my all and my best for the team and my sponsors.”

Matt: “I’m heading into this weekend with a lot of confidence after the podium at Cadwell Park, all our hard work really paid off for us and I feel motivated to continue our run of form. We’ve got a lot of solid data to start from so we should be able to come out firing on Friday morning. I’d like to walk away with another podium this weekend, I know it’s not as easy as that, however, I’m confident, the team are ready and raring to go and ultimately that’s a good recipe for success.”

Shaun: “I’m looking forward to getting back out on track this weekend, although Donington Park isn’t my best track on the calendar I do enjoy riding round there, and hopefully this weekend my fortunes will change. I feel like I’m riding well, I’m in the hunt with the front runners and I just need to continue working hard and making my way closer to the leading pack. I know we’re not far away and if we continue to work how we have been these past few weekends I feel we’ll be in the mix.”

Gary: “Donington Park is always a special event for us, our base is just 20 minutes down the road and we’ve all got some fantastic memories at this circuit. We’re ready to battle hard this weekend, Fraser, Shaun and Matt are in good spirits, they’ve built up some good momentum over the last few rounds and hopefully that will be on show.

“Jaimie has done everything he can to be fit, he’s been in physio everyday since his return home after Cadwell, he will have to pass a fit to ride assessment by the BSB medical team on Friday morning, but rest assured we will continue to give him our full support.”
