Swadlincote-based TAG Racing Honda are ready to ‘head home’ to Donington Park as Charlie Nesbitt and Fraser Rogers aim to kick-start their 2026 campaigns at the second round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship. Matt Truelove will be joined by Jaimie Van Sikkelerus who makes a return to racing this weekend, marking his first outing in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship after a pre-season winter training incident saw him miss the opening round at Oulton Park.
After a tricky start to the 2026 ZYN BSB at Oulton Park, where Charlie Nesbitt endured a weekend of two halves, where two DNF’s in three races thwarted his solid progress and Fraser Rogers struggled to match his pace shown in free practice and qualifying, the duo are fully focussed on improving their own fortunes at Donington Park.
Nesbitt and Rogers head to the 2.6-mile Grand Prix circuit in a confident mood after experiencing a positive official test there in April, and are looking to improve their Championship standing across the weekend.
Matt Truelove heads to Donington Park in a confident mood after a positive opening round, where he collected a strong sixth-place finish, after pushing hard for the podium. The Grand Prix circuit is one of ‘Truey’s’ favourite tracks on the calendar, and has his eyes firmly set on challenging for the top three once again.
This weekend see’s Jaimie Van Sikkelerus make a welcome return to action following a winter training incident back in February. He will swing his leg over his Superstock Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and is hopeful of a positive result as he looks to start his 2026 campaign in a competitive manner.
Charlie Nesbitt: “After what was a difficult opening round I’m heading to Donington ready to show what we can do. We left the pre-season there in a good place and I’m sure we can pick up where we left off, and that will help us start on the front foot. I want to be challenging for the top five this weekend, it’s where I, and the team expect to be, but it’s important to remain focussed on our goals and take it session by session.”
Fraser Rogers: “Our true potential wasn’t fully on show at round one, although we made some great strides, and I posted my personal best time and collected points, I expect more from myself. This weekend will be important for us, the circuit suits our bike a lot more than Oulton Park and I feel that we’ll be a good position come FP1 after our work here at the official test. Being inside the top ten and fighting for the top six is the aim this weekend, I feel we’re more than capable of that, and with it being the teams’ home round I want to give them something to celebrate.
Matt Truelove: “I’m really excited for this weekend, we showed good pace at round one and I want that to continue this weekend. Donington is great circuit and I love riding around there, it suits our bike nicely and I feel we’re in good place heading to the teams’ home track. I want to be fighting for the podium again, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be and I want to give the lads on my side of the garage something to celebrate.
Jaimie Van Sikkelerus: “From of the injury I have worked every day in the best way possible to recover as fast as possible, and this weekend at Donington I can finally jump out on track. It will be the first time with the TAG Racing Honda superstock bike as well, because I have missed all the pre-season tests as well as round one, but I will do the best I can on one of my favourite tracks. I can’t wait to be back out there and fighting as hard as possible.”
Team manager Gary Winfield: “It’s always great to be heading to Donington Park, it’s our home circuit and we have plenty of support throughout the weekend which always gives us extra motivation. We are aiming for solid points from Charlie and Fraser, Donington suits the Fireblade much better than Oulton Park so we’re confident of good results from the pair. Matt is focussed on a podium, and I feel with the pace he showed at round one and throughout testing that is certainly possible.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Jaimie back to the team this weekend, we’ll be giving him all our support to ensure he can be fighting at the sharp end.”
