Dutchman Jaimie Van Sikkelerus is set for a wildcard appearance at his home round of the British Superbike Championship, competing in the Benelux Trophy races onboard the teams 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 S.
Van Sikkelerus enjoyed his best result of his BSB career in 2025 at Assen. He achieved 7th in the opening race of the weekend after riding his heart out in tricky conditions, much to the delight of the home crowd.
2026 has proved a tricky season for Jaimie, who after breaking his leg in a pre-season training incident, has worked extremely hard to get back to full fitness. JVS currently sits 22nd in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, and hopes that this weekend will be a welcome distraction from his regular season.
Jaimie will take to the 2.8-mile historic circuit onboard the teams 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 S in the Benelux Trophy, tasked with developing the bike and providing honest feedback ahead of the squads full-time switch to the Italian manufacturer next year.
Jaimie Van Sikkelerus: “I’m really looking forward to Assen, even if it’s in a little bit of a different way, but it’s great to be be back out on track and testing the new Ducati Panigale V4 S for the team. I’m really curious about the bike and how it will handle, and it’s even better to be able to do that at my home track, with my own sponsors around me. I want to make it a beautiful weekend for everyone involved, especially the crowd.
“I’m happy, really happy, I’m extremely looking forward to the weekend, it’s going to be a busy on and off the track, but hopefully I can give everyone something to celebrate.”
Team manager Gary Winfield: “We’re really excited to get Jaimie out on track this weekend at Assen. With the superstock class not making the trip across the water we were keen to ensure Jaimie was out on track.
“With our build of the V4 S complete we felt it right to give it to Jaimie for this weekend, we’re looking forward to hearing his feedback and getting a head start on development of the bike ahead of 2027.
“2026 has been a tough year for Jaimie, but we’re extremely proud of him for sticking in there, staying positive and doing the best he can considering his injuries. Hopefully the home crowd can cheer him on and we’ll achieve some really positive results this weekend in the Benelux Trophy.”
