Following on from the teams first Bennetts British Superbike Championship podium in 2,212 days, the TAG Racing Honda team return to action across the weekend (July 25/26/27) at the famous Brands Hatch GP circuit brimming with confidence, aiming for further success on track in both the superbike and superstock classes.
Round four of the 2025 Bennetts BSB season proved to be a highly successful and positive trip North of the Border for the Swadlincote based squad, after Fraser Rogers collected his maiden podium in the blue-ribband class during race three, with the trio of Jaimie Van Sikkelerus, Matt Truelove and Shaun Winfield all enjoying positive and confidence building weekends to boot.
The teams’ superbike pairing of Rogers and Van Sikkelerus head into round five of the series looking to continue their strong starts to the season, with Rogers setting his sights on more silverware and bagging vital Championship points. Likewise, his Dutch team mate is also aiming for a return to the point scoring places, at one of his favourite tracks in the UK.
Matt Truelove and Shaun Winfield will have two cracks of the whip across the weekend at the 2.4-mile venue, with two races planned for the Pirelli National Superstock Championship. Race one gets underway at 16:45 on Saturday and race two at 13:35 on Sunday. Both Truelove and Winfield sit fifth and 10th respectively in the season standings, with the pair aiming to increase their tallies across the weekend.
Brands Hatch sits in the heart of the Kent countryside and is classed as the home of British motorcycle racing. It has been the site of many spectacular moments within the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, and you can be sure to witness more of the same this weekend.
Fraser Rogers: “After my podium at Knockhill I’m raring to go at Brands Hatch and see if we can repeat the success we had last time out. Me and the team are under no illusions that it’s not going to be easy to do that, but we’re feeling confident that we can certainly be in the mix.
“I really like the Grand Prix circuit at Brands, it has everything that you want as rider to really test your ability, so with the confidence I have, how fit I’m feeling, my current mindset and the sweet spot we find ourselves in, I’m very much looking forward to the weekend.”
Jaimie Van Sikkelerus: “Brands will feel special, it’s the track where we last year decided to start with the big knee operations because of the issues I was having on track. I’m really looking forward to this race weekend, it will feel like my first real Superbike race at this track and I will gave it my all to make it a great one.”
Matt Truelove: “Brands Hatch has always been one of my favourite circuits on the calendar so I always look forward to going there, and this weekend is no different, I really can’t wait to get back out.
“I was happy with my performance at Knockhill, however I know I could have done better especially after our performance in 2024 there, but I’ve put that behind me now and I’m fully focused. The aim is to to be on the podium, we need to start strong and see where we’re at come race day, but like I say, I feel really confident heading to Brands.”
Shaun Winfield: “I’m really looking forward to getting out on track at the weekend, Brands is up there with one of my favourite tracks to visit on the calendar. I have a lot of good memories racing over the years at Brands Hatch, and I want to continue that this weekend. We need to be competitive from the first practice, which I’m confident that we can be and build some strong momentum from there.”
Team Manager Gary Winfield: “We’re really excited heading into the weekend, obviously Knockhill was an extremely positive event for us and we’re looking to building on the momentum we have built there.
“I’m under no illusion that it’s going to be tough, the Bennetts BSB grid is packed full of talent as it shows every weekend, however we proved last time out that we’re not here to make up the numbers. We’ve got that taste for success back again and I’m looking forward to seeing what all the lads can do at Brands Hatch.
“Brands Hatch has been extremely kind to us over the years, it’s a track we’ve had our fair share of success at and we have a lot of happy memories there as a team, so we’re aiming to make more this weekend.”
