TAG RACING ROUNDS OFF 2026 WITH PODIUM DELIGHT AT BRANDS HATCH

TAG Racing rounded out the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship in style at Brands Hatch, as Matt Truelove grabbed third place in the final Pirelli National Superstock race of the season on Sunday, and Fraser Rogers collecting 11th place in the final ZYN BSB battle of 2026 in tricky conditions.

The Kent circuit provided a fittingly dramatic end to the season, with changeable weather and tricky track conditions adding to the challenge across the three-race Showdown finale.

Friday’s opening free practice session saw Rogers make a strong start in the damp conditions, setting the fourth-fastest time with a 1:36.648, just 0.598 seconds off the pace. Team-mate Swann also made progress as the riders began working towards the weekend’s crucial qualifying and race sessions.

Saturday’s qualifying saw the pair fail to progress through to Q2, with Rogers lining up 18th and Swann 19th for the opening race.

The 20-lapper provided mixed fortunes for the TAG Racing Honda pairing, with Rogers suffering a technical issue on the opening lap. That left Swann to fly the solo flag for the team, battling hard during the 20 laps to take 14th at the flag, and once again inside the Championship points.

The shorter, 12-lap sprint race, on Sunday saw Swann deliver another encouraging performance, taking 14th place in a tough battle. Rogers crossed the line in 18th after working his way forwards from 24th on the grid, following the disappointment of Saturday.

The final race of the season brought tricky difficult conditions, with rain and poor visibility forcing a delay before the race was restarted over a reduced 14-lap distance. Rogers produced a determined ride in the wet, making up seven places to finish 11th and round out the season with a solid points-scoring performance.

Swann endured a challenging final race of the weekend, with tricky conditions making it tough for the Northern Irishman, who battled the conditions well to finish the race in 23rd.

The 2026 Pirelli National Superstock Championship season also came to a close in style at Brands Hatch this weekend, with Matt Truelove securing a hard-fought podium finish in Sunday’s season finale to round out another competitive campaign for the Swadlincote-based team.

Jaimie Van Sikkelrus also rounded out the year with two top-15 finishes in both races, collecting a seasons best result of ninth in Sunday’s tricky wet race.

Fraser Rogers: “It’s honestly been one of the toughest season I’ve had personally, but, in truth I’ve loved it. I’ve loved the challenge that we’ve faced, trying to find solutions with the team and working as hard as we possibly can to achieve what we have.

“To round out the year with an 11th place isn’t anything to write home about, but, it’s nice to end the year on a positive. The weekend has been a challenge, but as always I trusted the team to work hard to give me something I could push on to come home with something for them.

“I must finish off by saying thanks to Rob, Tracy and Gary for their belief in me, I do feel like one of the of the family, we work well together and their support never goes unnoticed. Thanks to everyone out there for their support this year, I really appreciate it.”

Scott Swann: “I’ve loved being apart of the TAG Racing team, joining them with three rounds to go was an absolute pleasure, they’re a great team and have worked extremely hard for me, and for that I can’t thank them enough.

“It’s been another good weekend for me, I’ve enjoyed battling with some top BSB riders and proving that I can fight hard at this level. To walk away with two top-15 results is great, I’m proud of our efforts and again, I can’t thank the team enough for all their trust and support.”

Matt Truelove: “I’m really pleased to end the year like this, to grab a podium in the way we did was pleasing and a mega way to round off the season not just for me, but for the whole team. I did struggle with my shoulder in the dry, it wasn’t painful, just stiff and sore so the rain on Sunday was a welcomed relief, and it’s proved that we are competitive.

“I do feel like without the incident at Cadwell Park we would have been pushing for the top three of the Championship, fair play to David (Allingham) he’s been amazing all season long and we’ve all struggled to catch him. I can’t thank the team enough for their support and efforts this season, they’re an amazing bunch and I’m already excited to get the 2027 season started.”

Jaimie Van Sikkelerus: “I really enjoyed the weekend, we did a good job as a whole team and especially in the race on Saturday. I had much more confidence and the speed was there, in a much more consistent way and that gave me a lot of confidence for the race on Sunday.

“But the incident on the start line that happened didn’t help me, and starting from 12th I was feeling really confident, but I was left with nowhere to go and I lost of positions because of what happened. So I had to come back from as far back as 20th, so to finish ninth in the last race I am happy with.

“It’s been a challenging season due to my injury, but we’ve done the best I can and I can’t thank the team enough for everything they have done. They are honestly the best team I have ever been in, they’re like my family and I can’t thank them enough for everything.”

Team manager Gary Winfield: “To finish off 2026 on the podium is a great feeling, this weekend has been challenging due to the weather and everything else that has been thrown at us, however the team worked extremely hard and fair play to all the riders, they’ve ridden hard and given it their all, that’s all we ask for.

“This year has been really challenging for us all, we’ve shown what we can do as a team in flashes, but not on a consistent basis and that’s something we have to improve on in 2027. However, with our plans and what we have already put in place, I feel we’re going to be in a very good position in 2027 and as a team we’re all very excited for it.

“Thanks to all of our sponsors, partners and supporters for sticking by us, we know it hasn’t been the best of seasons but without them we couldn’t do what we do. Thanks for being onboard and supporting us throughout the year.”

Fraser Rogers finished the 2026 ZYN BSB Championship standings in 17th on 55 points, with Scott Swann 22nd on 13. Matt Truelove secured fourth in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship with 183 points, with Jamie Van Sikkelerus 19th on 44.
