Productive and positive private testing for TAG Racing Honda at Snetterton

TAG Racing Honda enjoyed a positive private pre-season test at Snetterton after four-days on track, which saw Fraser Rogers, Charlie Nesbitt and Matt Truelove work through a number a new items and settings with their Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblades ahead of the start of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship.

The team travelled to Norfolk for a four-day private testing event, alongside the opening round of the No Limits Racing season, with Fraser, Charlie and Matt taking part in the Pirelli Super Series Power Trophy. Three practice sessions, one qualifying session and three races were scheduled to take place, providing plenty of track time to complete the initial process of pre-season testing.

More than 250 laps combined were completed during the test, allowing the riders to compare new and upgraded parts acquired during the winter, also giving the team plenty of data to assess which has given them a clear direction for the start of the 2026 season.

‘Spud’ Nesbitt, who was riding his new bike for the first time, would produce a lap time just one tenth of a second slower than his qualifying pace from his 2025 BSB visit, and in addition, both Rogers and Truelove would post their fastest laps of the circuit in the process, thus proving it to be a positive test for the trio.

Charlie Nesbitt: “This weekend has been my first with the team and being honest we’ve gelled really well together, we’ve worked extremely hard and that is really pleasing for me. We’ve tried a lot with the bike, made lots of changes, good and bad and it’s given us a good direction to go in for the official tests and beyond. We’ve gone faster each time we’ve gone out on track, and I’m excited to build on this momentum.

“We’ve worked hard to get me feeling comfortable with the package, and I already feel at home on it, and I think that shows with my lap times this weekend. All in all I’m really pleased, I can’t thank the team enough for getting me out this weekend, and I’m really excited to get to Donington Park.”

Fraser Rogers: “I’m really pleased as wrap up our four days on track at Snetterton, I must say a big thanks to the TAG Racing team for sorting it out, because it’s put us on the front foot heading into the official test. We’ve managed to complete more work than I anticipated really, which I’m really pleased with, I feel much more comfortable on the bike than I did compared 2025, and I feel we’re in a stronger position as well.

“We’ve found progress with the new rear tyre we have to use in 2026, we’ve tried lots of different settings and I’m impressed with the new components that the team has acquired for this season. They have improved our package a lot which is good, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we progress with everything we have discovered here, at the official tests and at the opening round of the season.

“It’s been great to begin work with Charlie, my new team-mate, we’ve bounced ideas off each other all weekend and we’ve worked well together, and we’ve been able to complete a lot of work together. I’m really happy and I think we’ll be in good shape this season.”

Matt Truelove: “It has been a really positive test for us, the weather has treated us kindly, which has meant we have got through a lot things we wanted to try. My initial aim was just to get back up speed, and because of the good weather that happened a lot faster than I expected. We started working through a lot of things, new parts and set-ups.

“I felt much more comfortable than I did when we visited here in mid 2025, and I’ve posted my fastest lap time here, which I’m really pleased with. I’ve been consistent all weekend, I’m feeling good with everything and I can’t wait to get to the official test now and continue our progress.”

Team manager Gary Winfield: “I’m really pleased with how these four days have gone, we’ve worked hard through a number new parts and settings that we’ve developed over the winter and they have proved to be extremely positive. It’s been great to see the progress from all three riders, and it’s giving us a lot of confidence as we head into the official tests in April.

“The boys have come away from here safe and sound which is important. But what I’m particularly pleased with is how the whole team has conducted themselves this weekend, we’ve all stuck to the programme in place and worked hard.”

The team will return to action at the opening ZYN British Superbike Championship official test at Donington Park on April 3 & 4.
