TAG Racing Honda head to round seven of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton this weekend aiming to improving their fortunes, with both Dan Linfoot and Shaun Winfield fully focussed on capitalising on the potential of the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP around the Norfolk venue.
After a frustrating end to a positive weekend at the previous round at Cadwell Park, both Dan and Shaun are fully focussed on continuing the positive progression made with the Fireblade.

The former airfield circuit saw the all-new Fireblade take the Championship by the horns in 2020, with Glenn Irwin and Tom Neave achieving great success taking victory in both the Superbike and Superstock classes, something that has given the team added motivation ahead of the weekend.

Linfoot, who currently sits 17th in the Bennetts BSB standings, heads into the weekend aiming to continue the strong results he’s achieved at the 2.9-mile circuit in the recent past. The Yorkshireman has been somewhat frustrated with his performances this season, but is fully focussed on gaining his best result of the campaign for him and the team this weekend.

Winfield heads to Norfolk full of confidence after a strong showing at Cadwell Park, which saw him run in the top 10 for most of the weekend, but a frustrating raceday has left him wanting more this weekend. Snetterton is one of Shaun’s favourite tracks on the calendar and he’s also fully focussed of achieving his best results of the season in Sunday’s encounter.

Dan Linfoot“After the general disappointment we suffered at Cadwell I’m looking forward to trying to improve our position in the Championship. Snetterton has treated me well in the past, I’ve had some strong results there, and I want to get that feeling back to satisfy myself and the team.

“We need to continue to be strong in practice and then we need to carry that into qualifying and the races. It’s important to qualify well at Snetterton and get away with the front group, because you can quickly get lost mid pack. It’s fair to say we haven’t shown our true potential this season but hopefully with how the Fireblade suits Snetterton we can get back to where we belong.”

Shaun Winfield: “I’m really excited ahead of Snetterton, it’s one of my favourite tracks on the calendar and I’m heading there now fully fit after my arm pump operation. My performance at Cadwell has left me wanting more, lots more. Obviously being taken out in the race wasn’t great but I still feel if that didn’t happen we could have had a good result.

“I know that Snetterton suits the Fireblade well, Glenn and Tom proved that with their victories last year, so that fills me with confidence. I’m looking to continue the good feeling I have, getting a good points score is on my radar and if we perform like we did at Cadwell then I can’t see any reason why we can’t achieve that.”

Team manager Gary Winfield“We’re really looking forward to this weekend for many reasons really, it’s one we’ve been looking ahead to for a while. Snetterton is a great circuit and it really suits the Honda, as Glenn proved last year, so we feel we’ll be strong there.

“We want to see a good performance from Dan this weekend, as a team we’re in this together and we’re getting better with the Fireblade but there definitely is more to come from both him and the bike.

“Shaun is confident ahead of the weekend and it’s great to see how excited he is, his performance at Cadwell was excellent and proved he suits the package and hopefully we can see a repeat performance at Snetterton.”
