Motul becomes technical partner of Santander Salt TAG Racing
Santander Salt TAG Racing can confirm that leading lubricant and cleaning product manufacture Motul are to become the team’s technical partner for the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike campaign.
After seven strong years of support from Putoline and Putoline UK, Santander Salt TAG Racing will now work with Motul, who have signed a contract to become technical partners of the team for the 2020 Bennetts BSB season.
Motul will supply products and support to the team for the Superbike, Superstock and Sidecar outfits, with the new season just a matter of months away.
Founded in 1853, the global lubricant manufacturer has enjoyed much success in the racing world, providing support in many different formats to two and four wheeled machines, as well as marine and powersport outfits.
Motul UK’s senior brand manager Richard Barrett said: “We’re really excited to announce that we are joining forces with Santander Salt TAG Racing for 2020. We have been in conversations with Gary and the team for a while now, so we’re delighted to be working with them for the new season.
“They are such a professional outfit within the paddock, everything they do is immaculate and looks absolutely fantastic on track. With their expansion for 2020 it’s the perfect time to join forces, our brand will be on show in four different classes with them, which is perfect for us all.”
Santander Salt TAG Racing team manager Gary Winfield: “Firstly I need to put on record my thanks to Putoline, our outgoing technical partner, we have enjoyed a solid seven years of support from them, and I must say thank you to everyone there for their backing over the years.
“But this is now a new dawn for the team, agreeing a deal with Motul is fantastic for us. They’re a household name within racing, and for us to be working with them for 2020 is an exciting prospect.
“This season will be one of our biggest in terms of the classes we will be racing in, and our focus on performing to the best of our ability is at the fore front of my mind, and we want to repay not just Motul, but all of our sponsors and partners with brilliant results.
“The work behind the scenes at the workshop has been non-stop, but we have all of our machines ready to go for the opening BSB test at Monteblanco, which we are all prepared for, and we can’t wait to get going.”
Friday February 21 will see our 2020 machines revealed to the public, before being shown on track at the official Bennetts BSB test at Monteblanco.
