It’s a quick turn-around for the Anvil Hire TAG Racing team after a tough weekend just four days ago at Silverstone, James Ellison and Shaun Winfield head to Cheshire and to the Oulton Park circuit as they aim to make a strong start to the end of the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship
Following a difficult weekend at Silverstone last weekend, the pair head to Cheshire ready to begin their strong start to the end of the 2018 campaign at their favourite circuit.

James Ellison is fully focussedon a return to the podium at his home circuit, where he is aiming to throw his name in the hat in the battle at the front, as the Showdown starts at Oulton Park.

Ellison has enjoyed much success at the woodland circuit, and feels the improved rear linkage the team has worked on will help with rear grip as he hunts for his first victory of the season.

Returning to one of his favourite tracks Shaun Winfield is ready to add to his Championship points tally this weekend, ‘Munch’ currently sits on three points, a career best in Bennetts British Superbikes.

James Ellison: “I’m looking forward to getting back out on the bike at Oulton Park, it’s a great track and I want to be able to give my fans and the team something to shout about. Silverstone was a tough event for us but that is behind us now and I’m fully focussed on having a good round here.

“Oulton Park will suit our bike well, we’ve seen that in the past and I believe this weekend will not be any different. After Cadwell where we tried the new link that the team worked on we felt it would work well at Oulton because of the undulations the circuit has, because it did improve our performance and the way the bike worked at Cadwell.

“I want to have a strong end to the season, the team nor I should be where we are and they’re all working so hard the results aren’t showing in any way the effort we are putting in, but I’m confident that will change this weekend.”

Shaun Winfield: I’m really excited to get back racing again this weekend, Silverstone was a tough event for us but as a team we rallied around and gritted our teeth. I know that Gary has been working extremely hard behind the scenes seen we returned, and we’re back to full strength for Oulton Park.

“The track is fantastic, I love every inch of it. It really is like a rollercoaster, the undulation, the speed you can take some corners, everything about it is fantastic. My aim is to qualify stronger this weekend, because I know my times are strong enough in the races to get me into the points.”

Team Manager Gary Winfield“We’re glad to get back out track so quickly after a difficult weekend last time out, we’ve had to work hard behind the scenes in preparation for Oulton Park, but we’re ready to go racing.

“Our aim is to have a strong finish to the season, with both James and Shaun. We want to get back on the podium because that’s where we should be, it’s been a tough year but we’re desperate to finish the year strongly.”
