Challenging Cadwell qualifying for Anvil Hire Yamaha
It was a tough day for both Josh Brookes and Shaun Winfield, who have battled setup all weekend long with the duo qualifying in tenth and 22nd respectively for tomorrow’s first race at Cadwell Park
Following a tough day on Friday, where both riders worked hard with the setups of their machines ahead of qualifying at the 2.1 mile Lincolnshire track.
As the lights went out to signal the start of the three tier qualifying both Josh and Shaun headed out of pit lane leading the pack up to ‘Coppice’ corner. Josh posted a strong enough lap time mid session to send him straight through to Q2, a time of 1:27.290.
Winfield missed out on the second part, but not through the lack of trying, the 24-year-old continued to fight hard aiming to better his fastest lap of the weekend. ‘Munch’ posted a 1:30.1, to line him up in 22nd for tomorrow’s first race.
Q2 saw ‘Badboy’ fly out of the blocks, and after mid sessions changes once again to his Yamaha YZF-R1, he bettered his fastest time of the weekend and posted a 1:26.858, losing out on Q3 after a last lap dash from Shane Byrne, which knocked Josh down to 10th, and at the head of row four for race one.
Tomorrow’s races will be broadcast live on Eurosport at 1:15 and 4:30.
